This microscopic bar, with its low prices and hip street art look, blows its old-fashioned bistro neighbours out of the water. Bare stone with splashes of colour make the space feel refreshed, as do the bright frescoes and graffiti. The pretty sky-blue frontage is open onto the street, and the soundtrack is set by hip-hop and electro DJs. You can sit upstairs, but its better at the bar in the basement, where the regulars quickly hit the dancefloor. The best thing about it is its role as cultural space that’s open to all, which attracts a young cosmopolitan crowd. And the prices: during happy hour from 6pm-9pm, glasses of wine or Pastis are €2, pints €4 and cocktails €5. There’s a library for afternoon clients to browse, and during the week there’s a programme of exhibitions, film and documentary screenings on a giant screen, apéro events and gigs. Don’t miss the weekly women’s comedy slot, the Lady’s Comedy Club.
