The Clock - Christian Marclay (Harold Lloyd)

Visions d’Amérique

February 4 - March 5

Advertising

Thanks to the ubiquity of American cinema, it can seem as if American landscapes, cityscapes, values and customs are foreign to no one and vivid to film lovers everywhere. Exploring this idea, the Cinémathèque Française is screening feature films that shaped the world vision of America, from Harold Lloyd hanging from a clock face over moving traffic to King Kong standing triumphant at the top of the Empire State Building. Rediscover characters that the world has loved and cherished for years, from 'The Straight Story' (David Lynch) to 'Paper Moon' (Peter Bogdanovich), and from 'The Immigrant' (Charlie Chaplin) to 'North by Northwest' (Alfred Hitchcock).
