You want muscular? You want testosterone-packed? You’ve got it from the title of the latest film from director Nicolas Winding Refn and Ryan Gosling – the duo behind ‘Drive’. In a recent interview, Gosling promised that ‘Only God Forgives’ will be ‘much more extreme’ than 'Drive'. And if you’re in any doubt, check out the poster: a black and white shot of Gosling with his face smashed to a puffy pulp. He is Julian, an American who runs a Thai boxing club in Bangkok as a cover for the family’s drug smuggling business. Kristin Scott Thomas plays his mother (described a ‘merciless and terrifying mafia godmother’), who persuades Julian to avenge the death of his brother. Gosling fans should make the most of ‘Only God Forgives’. The actor recently swore to take a break from acting.
