Mois de la Photo

The best photography to see in Paris in November

Advertising

'A normal Mois de la Photo' promised Henry Chapier, President of Paris Audovisuel and the Maison Européene de la Photographie. And fair enough; the festival is both enormously successful and very well established in Paris's galleries and major artistic institutions. Every two years since 1980, November's gloom has been enlivened by a bit of colour from the best of the dark rooms; a welcome routine which has only got more ambitious with every time the festival comes around. For the 17th edition, there are more than 80 exhibitions in total, roughly organised around three themes: contemporary French photography, small format works and magical realism. From Paul Graham to Yvette Troispoux, via 50 years of contemporary French photography, Time Out recommends the following 10 essential exhibitions to visit over the coming weeks.

The full programme is available (in French) here.
