Regulars really like the friendly staff and budget-respecting prices at Casa Carolina, a neighbourhood restaurant and lounge on the delightfully named Boulevard Picpus in Paris’ 12th arrondissement. Ready smiles, burgundy velveteen seating and chalked-up set menus cement the down-to-earth atmosphere at this popular corner hang out. Casa Carolina serves traditional French-Italian cooking that does justice to many of the classics, from calazone to crevettes. Most people order a pizza – they're good and are served quickly. The homemade desserts are delicious. In summer, the terrace opens and the vibe feels even friendlier. Casa Carolina’s regular karaoke nights are great fun.
