Chez Georgette restaurant in Paris' 9th arrondissement is a throwback to the designs and colours of the 1960s. Remember formica tables and chairs with metal legs? That's the theme of the decor at Chez Georgette, though it's all sleekly designed with comfortable leather banquettes, a bit of exposed beam, and sunny blue walls with a big mirror to reflect the glory. The ambience is convivial and warm and the menu here is in traditional style, though with some inventive touches just about everywhere. Try veloute of curried Jerusalem artichoke, pappardelle with braised oyster mushrooms, veal with sauteed potatoes and aspic of yellow and red prunes, green tea flan with Morello cherries. A friendly, delicious spot.
