DeDa is a new restaurant and loving homage to the Georgian way of life, near the Louvre in Paris. Just like in Georgian homes, its heart is the hearth; an airy restaurant where time seems suspended. Where friends gather to share mtsvadis and khachapuri – kebabs and hot bread stuffed with choice cheese - in front of the fire. The other rooms are a wine cellar, a spices and sauces-lined delicatessen, and a bakery where the warm smell of lavachi bread) welcomes you. Outside in the DeDa garden, water runs chirpily and a virile vine climbs the wall either side of coloured wrought iron tables. Wonderful for lunch in the sun or a post-work drink with a side order of khinkalis, a kind of dough ravioli.
