Entre les Vignes restaurant in Paris near the Gare de Lyon has been serving up the divine regional cuisine of Lyon since 1908. This charming bistro has the right look: red moleskin banquettes, prettily moulded ceiling, lamps with little pleated shades, Miles Davis and Charlie Parker gently wafting through the air, a colour scheme that could have been dipped in strong tea. It somehow adds up to quite a cool place. Patron Didier behind the counter welcomes and advises you to his intimate venue. The daily specials on the slate are highly recommended, as is the pleasant terrace when the air is warm. And the wine list is widely agreed to be more in keeping with a great two-star eaterie than this fine local restaurant, so drink deep and enjoy.
