Easily among the best looking Indian restaurants in Paris 10th, this. Café Jaipur’s dark red walls, rich drapery, colourful big art, dark wood furniture and traditional soundtrack bring alive the sumptuousness of Eastern palaces of the past. Does the menu stand up to the style? On the whole, yes. All the classics of (Westernised) Indian food are the present and correct: tikka massala, vindaloo, jalfrezi, roghan josh, biryani - particularly nice with a light house side salad. Beef dishes seem to be Café Jaipur’s speciality. Chapattis and nan arrive warm from the tandoor. Set menus (printed in English as well as French) start at 11 euros.
