Café Jaipur’s dark red walls, rich drapery, colourful big art, dark wood furniture and traditional soundtrack bring alive the sumptuousness of Eastern palaces of the past. Does the menu stand up to the style? On the whole, yes. All the classics of (Westernised) Indian food are the present and correct: tikka massala, vindaloo, jalfrezi, roghan josh, biryani - particularly nice with a light house side salad.
