La Boussole

La Boussole has a posh Paris address in Saint Germain des Pres yet it’s anything but formal and pricey. The friendship among the young and happy team that runs it inspires the warm atmosphere of a neighbourhood restaurant. Old stone walls, well worn floor, and bistro-style tables very much add to the cosiness. Yet for all this rustic-ness, La Boussole excels at giving a modern Spice Route-inspired twist to French cooking. Separate lunch and dinner menus generally share the same starters, but different mains. So, a top midday meal might be a lamb and dry fruits tagine, followed by a honey and soft spice magret de canard in the evening. Mouthwatering stuff.
