A home from home is how people speak of La Cave Des Dames restaurant in one of Paris’s nicest districts, Quartier des Batignolles in the 17th. The marriage of posh bistro decor (sleek wooden bar with chrome fittings, shades of burgundy, blackboards aplenty) with the feel of the cellars of an independent vineyard owner is a loving one. Lots of fantastic French wines, charcuterie and cheeses are hospitably offered alongside authentic typically French dishes such as duck confit with fried apples, and sausage braised in white wine. The beauty is their simplicity. A happy hour starts at 5pm Tuesday to Friday, but the day to go is Sunday, for the legendary La Cave Des Dames brunch.
