There might not be much in the way of Mexican cuisine on offer in the Halles and Montorgueil region of central Paris, but what La Cucaracha lacks in company it more than makes up for in authenticity and charm. This delightfully kitsch restaurant, decorated with mosaics, virgin Marys and snaps of old revolutionaries, serves up traditional Mexican food with innovative Spanish and French influences. La Cucaracha’s main restaurant - adorned with blue and white tiles and exposed beams - has enough of a soul for the locals to appreciate, but is friendly enough to extend a warm welcome to tourists and students alike.
