La Tentation des Gourmets is a gutsy name choice for a restaurant, and this one in old Montparnasse in Paris’ 14th arrondissement pulls it off with style. Frequented by locals as well as visiting foodies, La Tentation des Gourmets draws them in with upmarket French cooking based firmly in tradition. Roast bass enlivened with fennel, roast magret de canard teamed with a with tart red berry sauce, and a pitch-perfect vanilla crème caramel (or variations of) are a handful of many highlights. Lots of natural light, muted walls contrasted with elegant dark furniture and deft touches of colour please the modern eye, making La Tentation des Gourmets something of an all-round temptation.
