Matching food and wine is an art, one which all too many of us are unable to conquer. Paris’s La Vigne St Laurent has, however done it, celebrating the twin French passions of good food and good wine with skill and knowledge. In a comfortingly higgledy piggledy room with exposed brick walls, vintage posters and, of course, what appears to be an endless supply of intriguingly labelled bottles, patrons enjoy the trademark La Vigne St Laurent laid back service and excellent, comforting regional food made with expertly sourced ingredients. The wine list is just about perfect, with an unpretentious selection of high quality bottles including biodynamic labels and those from the St Laurent vineyard too. Regulars rave about the simple pleasure of a La Vigne St Laurent cheese platter with a good glass of red.
