San Francisco restaurant in Paris just a few steps from the Pont Mirabeau hasn't changed since 1947 and that's just the way its league of devoted customers likes it. The corner location is girded with leafy shrubbery to give privacy to the umbrellaed terrace tables. Inside, a mural of carnival revellers in Venice dominates the classic Italian decor with its red velvet curtains, pale pink walls, wood detailing and white table linens. The menu too has perhaps changed a bit in twenty years, but has never strayed far from patron and founder Carlo Bianchi's native cuisine of the region of the Marches. Seasonally changing dishes include green asparagus with langoustine mousse, chef's own baked lasagne, saltimbocca alla romana with polenta parmesan, and house-made tiramisu flavoured with amaretto.
