Zak restaurant in Paris' cosmopolitan 11th arrondissement is a taste of Morocco. Zak is Zakaria Oukkaradi, a native of Morocco who fell in love with food and the magic of hospitality when he was a child in Africa. Now he welcomes and charms you in his lovely restaurant, a modern melange of art deco bistro, design cafe and authentic North African eaterie while his brilliantly gifted mother oversees the kitchen and prepares her own recipes there. Dishes include a dozen tajines, Moroccan tapas, couscous and pastillas and the wine list, intriguingly, includes bottles from the Mahgreb. Wednesday evenings bring a Moroccan orchestra and dancer.
