Born to a family of Chinese immigrants who trade in leather, Alain isn't your quintessential French vigneron with a ruddy face and a country accent. He explains his predilection for natural and biodynamic wines (which constitute 90% of his stock) by drawing on his Buddhist faith: his vines are treated with respect and in accordance with the lunar phases, as his beliefs mandate.
