Push open the door to La Petite Maison dans Paris, and the theme tune of Little House on the Prairie starts to play. Decorated with wildflowers, cornflowers and poppies, this boutique harks back to the countryside childhood depicted in the 1970s television series.
Owner Agnès Villette makes clothing for children aged 3 to 10 under her own brand name, Démodez-vous. She uses old material, costumes and vintage dressing up clothes for her collection of flounce dresses, aprons, caps, hats, pedal pushers, jackets and more (€60-€70 an outfit). Her designs are inspired by the TV show as well as by the clothing in Holly Hobbie and Sarah Kay illustrations. Matching toys and accessories from La Marelle and Bonjour Mon Coussin are also available. Pop in for a step back in time – or to pick an outfit for your little one’s next dressing up party.
