Festivals & events in Paris

A diary of sports fixtures, sainted holidays, culture and crazy parades

Festivals & events in Paris Nuit Blanche - © Elan Fleisher/Time Out
By Charlotte Thomas

Paris is bursting with culture, from film festivals to world music. During summer, classical music moves outdoors, with many urban parks turning into alfresco concert venues. Among them is the lovely Parc Floral de Paris, which holds weekend concerts throughout the warmer months.

However, there are also plenty of less highbrow diversions, especially at Paris-Plage, the beach on the Seine. Elsewhere, Solidays, Rock en Seine, Festival des Inrockuptibles and the Techno Parade all attract top acts. And if sport fans don’t manage to get tickets for the French Open or the Six Nations, there’s always the Marathon de Paris and the finale of the Tour de France, for which tickets aren’t required.

Information & prices

For information about temporary cultural attractions in Paris, check www.culture.fr or www.parissi.com for films, concerts and a calendar of clubbing events. Some of the bigger events charge admission fees, and you usually have to pay for food and drinks at street festivals and parties.

Well these events are all annual events, that the list can be used over a number of years. While the Turkish season is interesting and important, it is a limited special event. Perhaps that's why it's not included in this list.

I completly agree with the other commitment.Nothing is mentionned about Turkish year. İs it on purpose?

Posted by nimet sahingiray on Oct 8 2009 11:51am

And where is there any mention of the Turkish Season currently being held?
