There’s no denying that the George V is serious about luxury: chandeliers, marble and tapestries; almost over-attentive staff; glorious flower arrangements; divine bathrooms; and ludicrously comfortable beds in some of the largest bedrooms in Paris. The Versailles-inspired spa includes whirlpools, saunas and an impressive menu of treatments for an unabashedly metrosexual clientele; non-guests may reserve appointments in the week, and it’s worth every euro.
