Musée National du Luxembourg

19 rue de Vaugirard, 6th

When it was inaugurated in 1750, this modest but imposing museum inside the Jardin du Luxembourg was the first public gallery to open in France. Its current stewardship by the national museums and the French Senate has managed to bring imaginative touches and a reliable number of prestigious exhibitions here.

Event highlights Titian, 16th century political, religious & cultural portraits (13 Sept 2006-21 Jan 2007).
