The market in question is the Cours des Halles, the bar a convivial corner café opening out on to St-Germain-des-Prés bustle. It’s all wonderfully simple, with easy dishes like a ham omelette or plate of herring in the €7 range, half-decent Brouilly or Muscadet at €4-€5 a glass, a few retro posters and the regular passing of a beret-topped waiter. Recommended.
