Housed in one of the grandest Marais mansions, this museum is to be renovated in order to present a more pluralistic historical interpretation. In the meantime, a changing selection of documents and artefacts covers major political people and events – the French Revolution, Napoléon – plus social issues and quirky aspects of daily life. The adjoining Hôtel de Soubise boasts fine rococo interiors.
