Set in a Marais mansion, this museum sprung from the collection of a private association formed in 1948 to safeguard Jewish heritage after the Holocaust. Displays illustrate ceremonies and rites, and show how styles were adapted around the globe through fine examples of Jewish decorative arts. There are also documents and paintings relating to the emancipation of French Jewry after the Revolution, and the Dreyfus case.
