The food here is generally excellent and the dining room comfortable and well run. Start with sliced, pistachio-studded sausage and potatoes dressed in vinegar and oil. Then sample the renowned bourguignon, a first-rate rib of beef for two, or scallops sautéed in whisky. The superb house Bordeaux goes down a treat with cheese or one of the homely desserts.
