A la Bière looks like one of those nondescript corner brasseries with noisy pop music and lots of smoke, but what makes it stand out is an amazingly good-value €12.30 prix fixe full of bistro favourites. Start with thinly sliced pig’s cheek with a nice French dressing on the salad, then go for charcoal-grilled entrecôte with hand-cut chips. This is one of the few bargains left in Paris.
