Tropfest Southeast Asia's subsidiary project, Roughtcut is officially in the George Town Festival 2013 calendar. This event promises a one-day series of curated conversations with a group of notable film industry figures that revolves around the subject of creativity, innovation and collaboration. Guests of the day includes Michael Laverty (managing director of Tropfest International), Banjong Pisanthanakun (director and writer of 'Shutter' and 'Hello Stranger'), Sheron Dayoc (director of 'Halaw-Ways of the Sea' and Azharr Rudin (editor of 'This Longing and 'The Boatbuilders of Mermaid Island'). Other sideline events include a screening session of '10 Lessons in Film' with director Herman van Eyken as well as a selection of Tropfest winning entries across the regions.
