Every day, between 5pm and 7pm, there’s a RM28++ special happening at the beach side bar and restaurant of Beach Blanket Babylon. Within these two hours and that little money will buy you a tray of canapés plus either a glass of house wine or Hoegaarden. So far, we find this to be the best Happy Hour deal around town.
The tray of canapés is no slouch either. It consists of a generous offering of three kinds – smoked salmon atop a slice of French bread, smoked duck filled spring rolls and tuna croquette. Each one carries a sophisticated yet playful flavour well able to satisfy the after work hunger pang.
This is an on-going promotion and blends perfectly with their daily Happy Hour of 11am to 8pm where a bottle of Carlsberg or Skol is RM9++, a bucket of five bottles is merely RM40++ and cocktails are from RM9++ too.
The bar’s finger food menu consists of not only what’s offered on the canapés tray in their Sundowner promotion but also elegant aged cheddar gougeres, fun satay bohong, carb-happy fries and wedges and the humble garlic bread. Although, a favourite of ours is the crispy fried-shrimps (or school prawns) with vanilla infused aioli dipping sauce. These snacks are from RM4++ right up to RM18++. Kitty Kaye
