Bangkok Lane Mee Mamak
With a reputation of monolithic proportions, Bangkok Lane’s Mee Mamak does not only have a constant queue and been featured on television food programs but Penangites have even come to equate and subconsciously associate Bangkok Lane with that one stall in Seng Lee Cafe selling mee mamak. Mee mamak is a dish of yellow noodles fried with onion, fried tofu, chili, vegetables, tomatoes, egg, and (in the chef’s, Mahboob’s, personal spin on the dish), squid. Even when your craving coincides with bad weather, just drive up to the stall, holler your order and they’ll have it delivered to your car.
