Time Out says
The restaurant’s speciality is, as its name suggests, juicy, succulent steaks. A newbie to this place is advised to start with one of their signature trinity of either charcoal grilled black angus beef steak, wagyu beef steak or a perfectly charred master kobe.
It will cost you a pretty penny since these are prime cuts and begin at RM65++ for during lunch with no frills and side orders are from RM12++. However, if you’re tight on budget, this steak house also serves seafood combo, a few pasta dishes, salads and Japanese set lunches from RM28++.
We try a set lunch out of the dozen sets they have on offer daily and it comes complete with refillable cup of green tea, small varieties of appetisers, miso soup and a small dessert. While the delicate flavoured sake sashimi set or chicken katsu (breaded chicken fillet) set are perfectly satisfactory, the more colourful yakiniku teppanyaki or sliced beef steak set that catches our fancy.

The dainty and tender pieces of grilled beef are embedded within a lace-thin onion omelette, generously drizzled with sweet barbecue sauce and mayonnaise. Flavour wise, there’s smokey-sweet to it that’s distinctively Japanese and very gentle in terms of texture. Yes, quite satisfying when coupled with a chopstick-full of short-grain, Japanese rice.
Good value for an elegant meal, their lunch sets seem to be a well-kept secret in Gurney Paragon. Thus making this restaurant – located on the second floor and with a sea view – a pleasant place to chat or read, away from lunch and shopping crowds milling around the mall. However, on scorching afternoons, opt to sit indoors instead of their balcony because it can get rather heated-up even with their pretty fans running on high. Su Aziz
