St. Patrick's Festival in Penang

Gearing for an early start, Penangites take the lead this year by celebrating St. Patrick's Day a week earlier. Organised by the Penang Irish Association, enjoy four days worth of street parade, rock concert and Irish history-filled exhibition. Begin by jamming to a free rock concert by Irish pop duo Heathers at Hard Rock Hotel (Mar 6, 8.30pm) then move to an elegantly-paced St. Patrick's Day ball at E&O Hotel (Mar 7, 7.30pm). Fun time continues on the weekends with a lively street parade and a mini Irish exhibition followed by an extended performance by Heathers at Straits Quay (Mar 8 & 9, 12noon onwards).
