'Banana Punk Rawk Trails' and 'Young and Malay' book launch

'Banana Punk Rawk Trails', Marco Ferrarese's account of how it's like being a white European in the Malaysian metal punk scene sets the spotlight on the sound of shrieking 'rawk and roll' in Malaysia and Indonesia. 'Young and Malay', a collection of essays about growing up in Malaysia will also be launched. It isn't an ode to underground music without live performances: expect power rock group Speedwitches from KL, Penangites Coma and skull-crushing D-beat Kedahan outfit Angkara. Gigs are free.
