Every Day Women by Shahada Hashim

In conjunction with International Women's Day month, an exhibition by Shahada Hasim shares her belief about the beauty of every woman that exists in an energy cycle within her. The portraits of Beautiful Truth series show women from various backgrounds sharing their stories of life’s ups and downs. These women include breast cancer survivors and a 90-year old grandmother who is an oil painter with her granddaughter. Perhaps the most touching is a piece on a young girl who burnt her photograph after she saw the image of herself as a fat girl when she was 13 years old and had carried that image with her until the portrait session took place.
