GTF 2012: Australian Youth Band Southern Stars

Formed in 1978, the Australian Youth Band holds the title of the premier youth marching/concert band in Melbourne and Victoria. The band has toured extensively over the recent years, including performing at the Beijing Olympics (2008) and Beijing International Youth Festival (2005). Last year, the band toured North America where they performed at the San Francisco Pride Parade, Disneyland and Universal Studios and the July 4 Independence Day parade in San Diego. The band is made up of 30 young musicians aged between 13 and 18 from across Australia. The event will be held at two venues: Penang Times Square (Youth Jam, July 7) and Straits Quay (July 8).
