Malaysia Day is celebrated on 16 September every year to commemorate the establishment of the Malaysian federation. It is a significant date in the history of Malaysia as it marks the joining together of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore to form Malaysia in 1963.
There will be various cultural performances including Penang’s very own Boria showcase, ethnic dance from Sabah and Sarawak and a special Gamelan performance. There will also be a firework showcase at 10pm.
