Performer V. Mathavan and friends will take on storytelling of Kathakalakshepam with a story of Satyabhama, a temperamental wife of Lord Krishna. This engaging piece centers on Satyabhama's yearning and envy when Lord Indra presented a beautiful flower from his garden to the first wife of Lord Krishna, Rukhmini. To quell Satyabhama's jealousy, Sage Narada and Lord Krishna tricked her into thinking that the flower accidentally falls on Rukhmini's garden. The performance will be accompanied by the Temple of Fine Arts Orchestral Ensemble with mixtures of Tamil tracks and English repartee.
