Open to all, Going Beyond is a combination of expo, presentations and trade show aligned with the celebration of the Penang Island Jazz Festival. Happening at Bayview Beach Resort, there will be four Going Beyond shows to choose this year:
Going Beyond 1: Expanding Music Horizons/Networking Beyond the Mainstream

The International Music Expo FOCUS will highlight on WOMEX (World Music Expo), an international networking platform for the world music industry. Leading the presentation is the organisation's founding director, Ben Mandelson.
Going Beyond 2: Popular Music Heritage Preservation

Curated by James Lochhead and moderated by Grey Yeoh, the showcase presents the Pearl of Orient's popular classics from 1940s to 1960s.
Going Beyond 3: Networking, Music Marketing and Music Export

jazzahead! is a social platform dedicated to the international jazz scene. This segment will be presented by their artistic director, Peter Schulze and moderated by Richard La Faber.
Going Beyond 4: Music Cultural Exchange & Collaboration
Dec 8, 1.30pm-2.30pm
Co-founder and festival director of London Jazz Festival, John Cumming will present the 'Take Five Programme', a hugely successful professional development scheme for emerging creative jazz musicians
