Housed in a block of renovated Renaissance townhouses, the Czech Museum of Fine Arts exhibits mainly 20th-century Czech art, with an increasing number of exhibitions by foreign artists such as Karen LaMonte and overviews of contemporary art from countries including Slovakia and Northern Ireland. The gallery also hosts big exhibitions with overarching themes such as people, nature or technology, and special shows that are aimed at children around Christmas. The ongoing 'Alternatives' cycle is held in the atmospheric Romanesque cellar.
