Still the city's most soulful venue, this 1927 art deco theatre and coffeehouse is alive and more than kicking in the heart of Žižkov. The Akropolis lives up to its official billing as a cultural centre, with avant-garde stage plays, indie rock and world music. The main basement stage boasts lights and sound as good as any in Prague, but stages groups you won't witness anywhere else in the city. The Divadelní (theatre) Bar has nightly DJs and occasional MCs, all for free, while the Malá Scena features live jams and red-lit sofas. The former street-level coffeehouse is now a restaurant and pub.

Dont go if you are british.evryone in the club have pint glasses soon as you walk in they know you are brits and they give you a plastic glass. Dont get me wrong brits have a bad rep in prague but 3 men in there 40s only want a quiet drink.
