Opened in 2001 as the first enterprise of its kind in the country, this museum puts the communist era in historical perspective through its ample archive photographs, each with explanatory texts, as well as hundreds of relics on display. Co-founded by American restaurateur and long-time Prague resident Glenn Spicker, the museum has mock-ups of a schoolroom from the period, with Czechoslovak and Soviet flags hanging side by side and a Russian lesson on the blackboard. More eerie is the interrogation room, just like those used by the Czechoslovak secret police. And to keep Lenin spinning, the museum is directly above a McDonald's and shares a floor in the building with a casino.
