Far more than a bookstore with coffee, the city's original expat bookshop-café has been pegged as the literary heart of post-revolutionary Prague - and blamed for encouraging all the wannabe Hemingways. The Globe still carries the burden graciously, offering a cosy reading room and comfortable café surroundings to scribblers of novellas and postcards. Passable pasta salads and suchlike do for food, but they're easily surpassed by the tall lattes and enormous brownies. The internet terminals and bulletin board are lifelines for expats.
