Entering the Imperial is a little like stepping into a Stanley Kubrick film. Its walls and ceiling covered with sculpted porcelain, this incredibly ornate art nouveau shrine has been restored to the opulence it had when it opened in 1914. Now attached to the nearly-as-posh Hotel Imperial, the old-world dining room serves elegant renditions of trad schnitzels and rump steak, but seems more suited to lighter fare, conversation and crisp white wine.
