Steadily growing in floor space and menu length, this comfort-food emporium has been buzzing since San Franciscan Anne Feeley first opened its doors. The reason for its success, aside from the zesty quiches, traditional nut breads, muffins and peanut butter cookies, is the Northern Californian vibe. Grab a copy of the Guardian and hang out on a bench while you savour your java and croissants.
