Went to see a private screening of it, which certainly made the experience even better!
The movie was unlike the chick flick that I was expecting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was certainly the who's who of British comedy and included excellent performances from all. Even if you've never seen the Green Wing, Spaced or Peep Show and don't recognise anyone it's still definitely worth a look as it's incredibly funny and well presented as a 'mockumentary'.
I don't usually like watching films but this one was BRILLIANT. A very realistic plot and characters, very funny and all "real life" type humour. Many "disasters waiting to happen" moulded into a brilliant ending ( the only "less than totally realistic" bit ) but, just what one wanted to see.
My wife thought I had enjoyed it so it must have been good.
All in all a great present for our 10th anniversary
I saw a preview of Confetti and was disappointed. I was expecting a Christopher Guest style movie with the sharpness of the sitcoms its stars are known for but it isn't as tight or as funny as it should be considering the talent involved.
Complete garbage. It is stereotyped, hackneyed and boring with all of the main players doing what they've done much better elsewhere. I was tempted to walk out before the end. Stevenson and Freeman just about escape with their dignity intact but the same can't be said of Webb who is reduced to flashing his knob for a sake of a cheap augh and it isn't a pleasant sight. Has he never heard of gym mebership? A truly depressing film.
One of the worst films I have seen for a long time. Cheesy, boring and painfully unfunny. We walked out after an hour when it was clear that it wasn't going to get any better and that we didn't care who won.
why do all brit films need to be about funerals or weddings? And we're not doing it well anymore either it seems. I usually love the british genre but actually wanted to walk out half way through this one. And i reckon the actors are going to regret doing this. Its like watching a school drama lesson, so you're totally conscious that they're acting and trying to make their improvisation look good. I was so disappointed, a terrible vehicle for amazing talent such as Martin Freeman and Alison Steadman. It is embarrassing, especially the singing at the end, and the director seems to be making no apology for the soppy attempt at appealing to the american market. The only thing i laughed at was the gay couple, but how difficult .. or original..is it to play a funny camp character? The audience in the cinema seemed to appreciate the frequent nudity yet i felt the director was relying on this too much for entertainment. Again I think the actors are going to regret going to these lengths for such a poor film. I'm gutted. Is anyone going to do anything decent in this country which appeals to everyone as Bridget did? Lastly, the concept of a compeition where people just randomly try and come up with the most original idea, but which means virtually nothing to them, and that 2 gay blokes organise them all anyway...where's the competition? You can't possibly care. Oh. And Jimmy Carr is crap.
THIS WAS A VERY CLEVER COMEDY. EVEN MORE SO, WHEN YOU REALISE IT WAS IMPROVISED! AN ABSOLUTE JOY TO WATCH WITH BRILLIANT CHARACTERISATIONS FROM SOME OF OUR MOST TALENTED STARS. IM NOT GOING TO FORGET THIS FILM IN QUITE SOME TIME AND LOOK FORWARD TO PURCHASING THE DVD. INNOVATIVE FILM MAKING AT ITS BEST. DONT MISS IT!
I went to see this film as payback, as being a bloke I wanted to Mission Impossible last week, so it was my girlfirends turn last night....so Confetti it was. I secretly thought i'd enjoy the film as looking at the cast, it was full of people I recognised from shows i'd loved in the past......but woooh, what a hugh disapointment, the jokes had all been done before in other british films and they could of made so much more of an initial great idea. The original ideas for weird and different weddings were dreadful, but could of been so funny! I've never come of the the Cinema feeling that I'd been robbed so much as when i left after Confetti (we'll perhaps after seeing The Dukes Of Hazzard), to sum up the whole way through I felt sorry for Martin Freeman after such a good stint in the office, what a way to come back to earth - by crashing confetti no less!
The worst film I have ever seen. Full of smug, self deluded tv people. This spoof documentary is totally unfunny, and the characters abysmally unbelievable. Apparently it was completely improvised, and this might explain why the dialogue is like random conversations in the pub. Mike Leigh has shown that improvisation can only work if the hard work of character exploration is done first. A total disaster. Only got '1' because that is your lowest score. Should be 'o'.
