Review
This champagne bar is absolutely divine and we can not wait to go back! We went for birthday drinks and a light supper at 6pm and it was everything I expected and more.
The station itself is indeed fantastic and the bar smart and elegant, with booths and high stools stretching along the platform. Although it was really cold, once the buttons were pressed next to our seats in our booth- warm air warmed our legs and the seat heater our bottoms! Behind the glass barrier, a Eurostar train stood, waiting to whisk travellers off to Paris, just adding to the glamour of it all. This would be such a perfect place for a romantic date- champagne followed by a trip to Paris.
We had Mumm rose and a bellini, which were light and lovely, and pumpkin soup, the vegetarian canape plate and the leek tart. The food was so light and delicious- it really blew us away. It was also so perfect with champagne- an obviously well thought out menu.
Although this is an expensive treat- it was all worth it for the sheer quality of the food, drink, ambience and service (the staff were so helpful and attentive) and we will be back- next time we think for their champagne afternoon tea.
