Great big portions are not something you usually associate with amazing food, unless you come from the states.
The Clissold has done something few Gastro-pubs do - it has actually converted an entire neighborhood into foodies.
We ordered the creamy artichoke soup with truffle oil as a starter, in fact is was so inviting, all 4 of us ordered it, and were pleasantly surprised as it was a very generous portion and served with 2 homemade toasted bread slices - it was too delicious.
A salmon steak, a 3-fish pie, a roast sirloin and gorgonzola pasta came next all done to perfection. We couldn't help tasting each others meals and enjoying the good service.
Finally, we were still tempted by the sticky toffee pudding with the special ice cream which the 4 of us shared.
The Fresh Mint tea was also a lovely finish to the lazy afternoon lunch.
