Hidden behind a gated entrance in a peaceful part of the Trastevere neighbourhood, this ex-convent is no ordinary B&B. Fashion designer-turned-artist Luisa Longo's three rooms - arranged around a spectacular courtyard garden - act as a showcase for her distinctive creations: wall panels, bedcovers and curtains in hand-painted silk, organza and velvet. Longo's atelier, in a corner of the courtyard, is open to guests curious to watch the artist at work, and all designs displayed throughout the house are for sale. Guests are greeted after a long day's sightseeing with a restorative glass of wine.
