Artfully arranged bamboo? Tick. Pastel armchairs? Tick. The Capo d'Africa's hotel-design-by-numbers lobby may set the tone for the rather uninspiring decor throughout, but the hotel's location, on a quiet street near the Colosseum, is a definite mark in its favour. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable, if bland, and the rooftop breakfast room has knock-out views of the Colosseum and the fourth-century basilica dei Santi Quattro Coronati.
