Rosati is the traditional haunt of Rome's intellectual left: Calvino, Moravia and Pasolini were regulars. The art nouveau interior has remained unchanged since its opening in 1922, though the packed furniture and sea of lunch menus outside rather spoils the overall effect. Try the Sogni romani cocktail: orange juice with four kinds of liqueur in red and yellow - the colours of the city (and the Roma football team).
