One of the more serious centro storico wine bars, occupying part of a medieval bishop's house, Il Goccetto has original painted ceilings, dark wood-clad walls and a cosy, private-club feel. Wine is the main point here, with a satisfying range by the glass from €2.50, but if you're peckish, there's a choice of cheeses, salamis and salads too). It also closes early afternoon on Saturdays in July.
